Young adults today face numerous challenges that significantly impact their mental health and futures. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted their education, career prospects, and social connections, leaving them feeling uncertain and isolated. Financial strain, academic pressures, and the pressure to establish a stable career add to their difficulties. Moreover, the fast-paced, digitally connected world intensifies feelings of comparison, inadequacy, and the constant need to prove themselves, exacerbating their mental health challenges.

HALF of all students rated their mental health as poor or below average

ONLY 34% of young adults feel equipped for college or adulthood

80% of students feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities as a student

67% of people experiencing depression and anxiety don’t seek help

To empower struggling young adults and pave the path to success, we employ several effective strategies. Our foremost priority is creating an accepting environment that fosters a sense of safety, enabling them to openly share their concerns and fears. Next, we assist them in establishing clear objectives and crafting a well-structured Tatori life plan, which instills purpose and direction. By promoting a growth mindset and resilience, we empower them to conquer setbacks and seize learning opportunities. Our approach includes providing professional mentorship, connecting them with positive role models, and emphasizing the importance of cultivating sustainable healthy habits like self-care and goal setting. These combined efforts equip them with the necessary skills and confidence to effectively navigate these challenges and flourish in their pursuits.

See our About Page for more of our coaching services.

  • With an in-house Parent Coach and Family Dynamics Specialist, we help parents explore their behavioral tendencies - such as rescuing - and teach them how to replace those with empowering and supportive actions. We engage in both individual parent coaching work, as well as parental team coaching when there are more than one individual involved. Additionally, if and when everyone in the family is ready and able, we identify how the communication dynamics within individual relationships affect the family dynamic as a whole. We will then help each member of the family create new communication paradigms that help heal old wounds and create new healthy models of interacting that will last for years to come.

Throughout the process of adjusting to a new way of life, it is imperative that both our students and their support system are working with open lines of communication. Using family systems coaching, we help family break unhelpful patterns, notice communication dynamics, and understand how to relate more effectively.

  • Atlas Life has an in-house certified yoga instructor and mindfulness coach who is passionate about creating mind-body connections with their students. We focus on functional mindfulness and teaching skills that can be applied to everyday situations. After 5 years of working in the mental health field, Emily has seen the benefits of using mindfulness to combat social anxiety, job related stress, and emotional dis-regulation. We believe that every student at Atlas Life, no matter their background or goals for the future, can benefit from adding mindfulness into their daily routine.

  • Learning vocational skills offers numerous benefits to individuals. Firstly, vocational training tends to be more focused and hands-on, allowing individuals to develop specific skills efficiently. Vocational skills provide practical knowledge and expertise that can lead to immediate employment opportunities. Not everyone wants to be a carpenter for a living.

Lastly, vocational skills provide individuals with a sense of accomplishment and self-sufficiency, as they gain the ability to apply their knowledge and contribute to their chosen field, boosting their confidence and overall well-being.

  • While our Life Coaches are not licensed clinical therapists, we have decades of experience in the mental health industry and help our students find mental health professionals where they’re located.

We pride ourselves on being able to continue our students mental health journey in a real-world setting.

However, for any student that desires a licensed therapist or counselor is provided one. We believe in the importance of individual and group therapy from a licensed professional and want to make sure everyone’s needs are met in that regard.

Each student is given the option to choose from any number of therapists we have connection with in the community or find one on their own with our support. The same goes for a psychiatrist.
